I, like many of you, purchased K-mart Skillets in the past,they would last a few years. They only got hot where the heat strips are, so you literally cook with about one tenth of the skillet area. This Skillet is similar to my All-Clad cookware in its weight and feel, very good quality. It has much better heat distribution because the Heat wires are imbedded in an aluminum heat plate. you can actually cook on the entire surface of the skillet. I gave ALL my much lesser quality skillets to our neighborhood center. This Item is worth the extra money you will spend. You will enjoy cooking with this every time you use it. P.S. I gave this to my wife for Christmas last year, it still looks brand new. pretty romantic, I know. I don't know how I will top it this year. Tom Learn More
