Features

Untitled Document

7.1-megapixel: The PowerShot SD 750 is a powerful compact camera with a 7.1 million pixel sensor. It is more than capable of superior-quality prints at sizes even larger than 13 x 19, which makes the SD750 great for almost any situation.

Zoom: The genuine Canon 3x optical zoom UA lens lets you get up close before you take your shot, and the additional 4x digital zoom lets you enlarge the details before or after shooting.

3" LCD: The camera's 3" LCD screen gives you the big picture, whether you're shooting, reviewing or showing off your images. This extra-durable, high-resolution screen with tough scratch-resistant coating on the anti-reflective, PureColor LCD screen offers a crisp, clear picture to make shooting, playback and using the camera's menu functions especially convenient. Clear and bright, it also features Night Display for easy viewing in low light.

Camera design: The PowerShot SD750 has a brilliant, multi-textured finish to give it a distinct and sophisticated look. The back of the camera is lacquered in a deep black gloss finish, giving it a very sleek appearance. This model is also less than an inch thick so that you can easily carry it in your pocket or purse.

High ISO mode: With its light sensitivity of up to ISO 1600, this camera can handle short exposures to light, allowing fast shutter speeds that prevent blur due to camera shake or moving subjects. The High ISO Auto feature allows the camera to set ISOs up to 1600, if the conditions demand it, without need for manual adjustment.

DIGIC III Image Processor: The powerful DIGIC III Image Processor, is developed exclusively by Canon to optimize both the speed and quality of digital cameras. Along with increased response and shot to shot speed, the DIGIC III Processor brings with it a host of features, including Face Detection and an expanded ISO Range—with less digital “noise”.

Face Detection technology: Canon's Face Detection technology is a function built into PowerShot digital cameras that are equipped with a DIGIC III Image Processor. This technology identifies and tracks multiple human faces simultaneously to keep faces sharp and expose them properly for better quality pictures.

Movie mode: The fast frame rate movie mode allows you to record extremely smooth full-motion movie clips for up to one minute long in QVGA at 60 fps (320 x 240 pixels). Or choose from VGA (640 x 480 pixels) and QVGA (320 x 240 pixels) with frame rates of 30 fps and 15 fps for recording up to 1 hour or 1GB.

Memory: This camera comes with a 32MB SD card. Instantly add more memory with a larger MultiMediaCard, SD or SDHC card. How much memory do you need? Click here to find out.

Print & Share button: The Print & Share button transfers images to a PictBridge-enabled printer quickly for easy printing—there's no need to hook it up to your PC.

Manufacturer's description

Canon PowerShot SD750 7.1-Megapixel Digital Camera - Silver

Outstanding Style, Outstanding Performance
Stylish 7.1 Megapixel Digital ELPH with 3x Optical Zoom lens

Certainly the PowerShot SD750 Digital ELPH's design credentials and high-profile beauty are impossible to ignore. But a quick look beyond the iconic design reveals a camera seriously equipped for high-end performance.

The 7.1 megapixel CCD captures an extraordinary level of detail. Enlarge and crop as far as your vision takes you - you'll have all the detail you need for sharp, rich prints.

The camera's genuine Canon 3x optical zoom lens gives you all the benefits of Canon's legendary optics technologies along with the power to zoom in close. Expect clear, brilliant shots all through the zoom range.

Bold edges in a slim and contoured dual-tone design in two color variations to suit your personal style

The PowerShot SD750 Digital ELPH features a bold juxtaposition of cut surfaces and edge lines, culminate in an integrated shape, a concept with "Solid Form." Now you have two choices of the SD750 Digital ELPH between black or silver around the lens ring and the side of the lens barrel.

Canon Technology Maximizes Quality and Performance
DIGIC III Image Processor with improved Face Detection Technology and Red-eye Correction for sharper images and improved functionality

With DIGIC III, you get images of superior quality, the camera functions at top efficiency and battery life is significantly enhanced. What's more, DIGIC III enables Canon's newly improved Face Detection Technology and Red-eye Correction to give you better, more true-to-life people shots. Simply press the Shutter Button halfway down, and the PowerShot SD750 Digital ELPH automatically pinpoints the faces in the scene and chooses the ideal focus point. To keep every face looking bright and natural - without scary red eyes - the camera controls exposure settings and flash, so every shot is just what you were shooting for.

DIGIC III Image Processor

DIGIC III features Face Detection AF/AE, which finds multiple faces in the frame and sets the most suitable focus point, when the shutter button is pressed halfway. And an additional new feature, Face Detection FE adjusts the flash, based on a person's face on the screen. Exposure and flash are controlled to ensure proper illumination of both the faces and the overall scene, eliminating the common problem of darkened or overexposed faces.

Red-Eye Correction detects and automatically corrects red-eye during playback for both regular and flash photography. In unusual cases where red-eye is not automatically detected, it can easily be corrected manually during playback mode from the LCD screen.

iSAPS Technology is an entirely original scene-recognition technology developed for digital cameras by Canon. Using an internal database of thousands of different photos, iSAPS works with the fast DIGIC III Image Processor to improve focus speed and accuracy, as well as exposure and white balance.

See the Image in A Big Screen

Solid Camera, great pictures and easy to use

I just bought this camera and am very happy with it. I was trying to decide between this one, the canon 800is, and the sony n2.

The 800is had image stabalization for the same price, but i found the array of buttons and knobs on the back to be hard touse. One of the main things i wanted in a camera was ease of use since its a point and shoot. I decided against the sony n2 becuase i'm wary of touch screens, and also heard canon has a better picture (although i'm sure the n2's picture is great also)

Now on to the camera...

The one thing I really liked is that its simple to use. Every function or option can be accessed by either pressing the function or menu button, and then its right there in the menu. There are no dials to switch, and you don't have to have an adventure finding an option thru a maze of menus. There is also the playback button, where you can view the pictures you just took which is very very helpful, id go crazy switching some dial back and forth each time i wanted to see a picture i just took.

Picture Quality - I gave this a 4. On the normal setting the pictures turn out excellent. Better than I could imagine.. you really don't need image stabalization for regular pictures. The reason I put a 4 is becuase when you use the color accent mode the pictures seem slightly blurry.. not sure why this is. Other than that the colors seem to come out correctly. I'm not a camera expert but everything seems accurate.

Features- I gave this a 4 also becuase while it does have some nice features, not many are usable for everyday shooting. The color accent feature is kinda cool. The stich-assist seems very cool but havne't put a picture together like it yet. The macro function is also cool and works well. The optical zoom is good, its not great, but it gets the job done when you need to zoom in some. Whats good is that you zoom up to 3x optical (does not degrade image quality), and then it stops to let you know your going to begin to start the digital zoom (does degrade image quality).

Another cool feature was the ability to press the shutter-button half way down, which focused the shot, and then when you pressed it all the way down there was zero shutter lag. So you still can get shots of those split-second moments, as longasyou have the foresight to focus it before hand. Even if you don't do that, there is very little lag, probably half a second or less.

Movie mode is also good and easy to use. On the top of the camera is a switch between camera mode and movie mode.Thisis the only switch, but its simple and not a dial. Movies are probably as good a quality as you're going to get from a digital camera. I reccommend buying a large memory card (at least 2 gigs) if you plan on taking movies. However, this is wherethe image stabalization would really help. In the movies camera shake is pretty noticable.. .its not terrible but the image stabalization feature would have made this camera perfect.

Battery Life - I've read that its good, although my battery hasn'teven run out yet so i cant' tell you. One annoying thing is there is no battery life meter, so you have no idea when it'll run out. Its fairly simple to charge the battery. You take it out of the camera, put it in a device which plugs directly into the outlet. It takes about 90 minutes according to the manual to fully charge.

Cost-Benefit - If this camera had image stabalization it'd be worth every penny. If you can get it on sale go ahead (thats what i did).

Transfering the pitures to my computer wasfast and easy. You load the software, and then just plug the camera into the computer and thats about it. I would say the only downside to this camera is becuase of the super large (3') lcd, there is not alot of room to hold the camera. It canbe done, but its just not as easy as if you had a 2.5' screen. Also, there is absolutely no need for a viewfinder. I took some pictures in the bright sun the other day and could see the lcd perfectly fine. Supposedly its scratch resistant also, so we'll see onthat.

Cliff Notes : Overall i'm impressed and happy with the camera. Some things that would have been nice would have been image stabalization, a battery-life meter, and being able to output your video's in hd (i think the sony can) woulda been neat. One thing it had over the 800is is that it was a bit smaller. The size of it is perfect. In the end I was looking for something easy to use with a great picture, which is what I got.

The digital zoom seems fuzzy on the screen until you take the picture. Then it does come out clear. I would recommend this camera.
